1 : Was very skeptical about buying this phone at first due to the size (moved from the Moto G). Read many a review which criticized how large the phone actually was. When I received it, it indeed seemed very large, however, have gotten so used to it now that anything smaller just doesn't seem right.
The price seemed fairly high considering that the Nexus 5 was priced almost 14K lower. But the specs made it seem like a sweet deal compared to the flagships of HTC & Samsung. Yes, one can argue that smaller chinese start-ups like One Plus or Oppo manufacture phones with similar specs that are much cheaper, but the fact that its a NEXUS (stock android, priority updates etc.) won me over.
The build quality is exceptional and the phone feels good & comfortable to hold. Contrary to other reviews, the phone has never felt slippery or like it would pop out of my hand at any moment.
The display is nothing short of fantastic & watching a 1080p movie is an incredible experience with the dual front facing speakers.
Unlocked the bootloader & rooted on Day 1 (Its a Nexus afterall :)). Installed Tasker, Double Tap To Wake (through XDA) & enabled the LED under the speaker grill (through Light Flow). 'Ok Google' works great with the screen off (similar to the Active Listening feature on the Moto X) as Google/Motorola have included hardware to support the feature.
Installed a ton of resource heavy games (COD-Heroes, Real Racing, FIFA etc.) and have never felt the phone lag at all. Performance is buttery smooth with Lollipop and it makes it feel like a huge step up from Kitkat (which it is).
Battery backup wasn't excellent and I used to get between 12-15 hours of usage before hitting 20%. Installed a few apps to improve battery life and it worked wonders. Greenify has helped improve battery life to around 18 hours. I know that I would get at least 10% more if I enable DS Battery Saver but 18 hours is more than enough for me. Especially when a 15 -30 min charge using the turbo charger can take me back to 80% (provided you don't use the phone in between).
The camera is really good in normal light conditions. Some shots can rival DSLR's. Use a photo-editor like Snapseed and you're all set. There is definitely a time lag when clicking in HDR mode which may be a bone of contention for some, but its workable for me. The only grouse I have is the twin LED flash. It just seems too powerful & many pictures end up with a strong red-eye.
